Stephen Kenny will leave Derry City to take charge of Scottish Premier League side Dunfermline Athletic following the final game of the eircom League season next week - taking charge of the Pars for the first time less than 24 hours after his final game in charge of Derry.
The East End Park club announced via its website that it had reached agreement with Kenny, adding that the 35-year-old Dubliner will be in charge at the SPL clash with fellow strugglers Dundee United on Saturday next, November 18th.
Kenny's Derry side take on Cork City at the Brandywell in the final game of the eircom League Premier Division season on Friday night next, and the former Longford Town and Bohemians boss will jet off for Scotland immediately afterwards in order to make acquaintances with the Dunfermline squad ahead of the game against Dundee United at East End Park.
In a statement, Pars chairman John Yorkston said: "The Board went through an extremely comprehensive selection process as it was crucial for us to get a high calibre candidate for the job.
"Stephen has got a great track record and his achievements to date have been exceptional. We were greatly impressed by his attitude and enthusiasm throughout the assessment process.
"We, the Board, believe that Stephen Kenny is the right man to galvanise our squad for a push back up the Scottish Premier League table. We are happy that by taking our time in the selection process that we have secured an excellent manager for DAFC."
