His good friend, Ron Harris spoke about Osgood, claiming he had spoken to the former Chelsea man just hours before his death. "Well, I only spoke to Oz about half past ten this morning. He was attending a funeral and I was supposed to be speaking at a dinner with him on Friday," Harris told Sky Sports News.
"Apart from being a very, very good friend of mine for the best part of 30-odd years, I think he is the most gifted player I ever played with in my time at Chelsea Football Club," Harris expressed with great sympathy.
Ron also commented on his skill, claiming he had a ‘fantastic first touch’. "He had a fantastic first touch, was a big, strong lad and put the fear up big centre halves. He was a terrific lad and had some fantastic skill. He was a pleasure to play with," Harris said.
The last time Ron Harris saw Peter Osgood was on Saturday when Premiership champions Chelsea played Portsmouth, in which The Blue’s ran out as 2-0 winners. "I was with him on Saturday at Chelsea against Portsmouth and he was in fine form".
