Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has revealed the club's ambition to be "recognised as the world's number one club" within the next eight years.
The Barclays Premiership champions on Wednesday announced a unique link-up with AEG, one of the major forces in North American soccer. With Chelsea set to have a presence in America, Kenyon also wants the club to have a global following.
Kenyon said in the Daily Telegraph: "Chelsea's vision is by 2014 to become internationally recognised as the world's number one football club. We intend to meet it."
