Former England striker Paul Merson has revealed that he believes Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas will become a big star at this year's World Cup.
Merson was impressed by the youngsters display on Tuesday night against Juventus, a game in which Arsenal emerged as 2-0 winners with Fabregas getting one of the goals.
"I thought he was outstanding, absolutely outstanding. You look at him and, if he can get in the Spain team, as he should be, he could be the main player in the World Cup this year," Merson told Sky Sports News.
The former Walsall boss also believes Fabregas can become a big help to Spain's World Cup bid.
"He's that good. He can be a dark horse and maybe take Spain a little bit further than where they've been every other time in the World Cup."
However, all was not a good night for Merson, as he was infuriated by Juventus midfielder Mauro Camoranesi's attitude to getting sent off.
"When Camoranesi went off, clapping and blowing kisses, I don't know how Capello didn't get up and wring his neck, to be fair."
