Chelsea winger Arjen Robben admits it has been a struggle for everyone at the club to match the high standards they set for themselves in winning the Barclays Premiership last season.

Jose Mourinho's team are almost certain to claim back-to-back titles but have been criticised of late for some less-than-convincing performances.

Robben, who has now completed a four-match ban following his red card against West Brom earlier this month, said: "You can say that (we're not playing as well as last season), if we're honest with ourselves. It's just difficult. The second year is always more difficult to become champions again."
