England striker Jermain Defoe says he has no interest in moving from Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The revelation comes after Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez claimed that Spurs were 'desperate' to get rid of Defoe. Benitez also revealed he was interested in the striker.

Defoe is finding it hard to get regular first team football, after Robbie Keane and Egyptian Mido have cemented their places in the starting line-up.

"Obviously it is difficult when you are not playing, but when I am playing I love it. My heart is here and I want to contribute to achieving something special at this club. I am a Tottenham player and putting on the shirt and going out there on a Saturday," Defoe told The Sunday People.

The youngster also revealed that he would never go to the manager and ask to be transferred to another club.

"I haven't thought about asking for a move, that happened to me before and I am not going through that again. I'll never go into the manager and ask for a transfer. Why should I ask for a transfer when I don't want to move?"
