Dutch giants Ajax had a poor season in Erevedisie finshing 4th and will be looking to bolster their squad to help them achieve more next campaign. Aston Villa midfielder Lee Hendrie is a suprise target for the club after the Villa player is growing frustrated at a lack of first team football in the Midlands.

Villa may look to sell the player this summer, as he is unlikely to accept a new deal if he doesn't get played, due to his contract expiring in the next 12 months. Rumours suggest that Ajax who are pushing for Champions League football may interest the 28-year-old and that a £500,000 bid may be offered.

Hendrie revealed that he has had an 'interesting' offer from a club he refuses to name. "I have had a couple of shouts and one of them is very interesting," Hendrie told the Birmingham Mail. Hendrie is currently sidelined with a foot injury and has admitting his desire to play for the club at least once more. "If I am to leave Villa this summer, it would be very hard - almost impossible - to say goodbye without playing again for the club."
