Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has moved to quell suggestions that youngster Daniel Agger can already be compared with Anfield great Alan Hansen.

Those somewhat fanciful suggestions followed his debut goal against West Ham on Saturday, but Benitez believes talking about Agger in the same breath as the Liverpool legend will place an unfair burden of expectation on the young Dane's shoulders .

Benitez said: "I'm worried that people are talking about him like an Alan Hansen or the other great defenders from the club's history because he's only a young player. He still has a lot to learn."
